More than your average Bulldog...Hello my name is Bessie and I joined SMRS after finding myself at the animal shelter when I was picked up as a stray.  SMRS has provided all my medical care and I am a healthy, energetic, English Bulldog gal who is ready to join my forever family.   

I do require a home with no other Dogs or Cats. I am thrilled to tell you I love humans and that includes all the children I have met during my walks around the neighborhood.  It would be best if the children were 10 yrs and older, as I am a full grown Bulldog and I would not want to knock over a small child.  The love of my Belly rubs runs deep and I can also be found chewing on my Nylabone while you are busy during the daytime.  I am crate trained with no anxiety, potty trained and I do best with a midday potty break when you come home to see me. 

Yes, I am a bit of an attention hog who loves being the center of attention and I will snuggle up next to you in the evenings.  I enjoy going for walks during the cooler times of the day, but I need to be an inside only gal as all of us Bulldogs do.  I would enjoy a fenced yard to be able to explore, but it must be a secure yard as I will wander if given the opportunity.
