Hi everyone, my name is Alvin. I was found by a Good Samaritan at her work place and she just couldn't leave me to wander the streets alone. My owners never came forward to claim me, so a call was made to SMRS and thank goodness they had room for me. I had heartworms and needed other routine vet care, but I have a clean bill of health now and I am ready to "fetch" my own forever home.
I am a young, silly boy that is impulsively playful, charming and my enthusiasm for life is boundless. I am crate trained, no anxiety, potty trained and leash trained. I currently live with numerous fur dog friends, young and old and get along with everyone, however I am not cat, bird or rodent compatible. I love dog respectful children, but I am best matched with children that are older as I will jump with excitement and I would not want to knock over a small young child. I will need a secure fenced yard to insure I never become homeless again and I will happily utilize the yard to chase balls and squirrels, but I am not an outside dog.
My daily pastimes include going for walks, playing with toys and did I mention I love to chase balls? I am not all play though....I also enjoy being held like a baby and I am happy to cuddle up next to you or right in the middle of your lap. I dream of a home who can provide lots attention, so a home with an older active couple or someone who works from home would be just perfect.
