Thank heaven for little girls...My name is Gigi. I was surrendered to the animal shelter when my owner no longer wanted me.  The shelter contacted SMRS and a transport driver was sent right over to scoop me up.  To say I was shaking like a leaf was an understatement, but I mustered every ounce of courage I had and joined her on a car ride to safety.  My health care has been addressed by the Vet and I am now ready to search for a very special home.

I am extremely timid and easily frightened of new people and new things so I will be best matched in a quiet, less active home without young children.  My foster family had guests over one day and I spent the day hiding in my crate until the guests went home.  I would be perfect for a retired couple or a single person who doesn't have an active social schedule.  I am potty trained, crate trained and I do not have any issues being left home alone.  I will require a home without other pets as I was not fond of the dog in my previous home.   I am learning to come out of my shell in my foster home and I have learned the joy of playing with stuffed squeaky toys and I love to burrow under the covers in your bed. I am a non barker, but if I do manage to a bark it is a very soft bark.

I am trying hard to expand my horizons and go for short walks around the cul-de-sac, but when I see a new person or something different I want to turn around and go home, so apartment living would not be a plus for me.  I do however enjoy the secure fenced yard at my foster home where I chase any squirrels that try to invade my space.   I do have a bit of a mischievous, non destructive side, you see I am an expert at finding any food you may leave unattended and I will take that food treasure to my crate and enjoy every morsel.

Patience, compassion and kindness are the key to my heart.  I am ready to start my new life with you, please fill out my application today.
